                                    Some Examples:

 

 

                                    Example:    solve to find

 

                                    Then plot to find that it is indeed the right side of a parabola Ð due to

                                    restrictions on the time ()!!!!  (use window tstep=.01)

 

 

 

                                    To go in the other direction, you can usually simply substitute either

                                     or , but this won't help you graph the entire function!

 

                                    Example:               Try plotting in parametric mode.

                                                If just , we haven't gained anything Ð it is still just the

                                                top half of the ellipse!

 

                                                            try using   

 

 

                                    Example:     Which trig sub should we use?

 

 

                                    When we plot these, what  values should we use?
